We collect what a parcel needs to reach you and what a shop needs to keep working. Nothing else, and nothing is sold to anybody.

Who is responsible

What we collect, and why

Who we share it with
- The carrier (DHL or FedEx) — name, address, phone and a description of the goods. A parcel cannot cross a border without them.
- Customs authorities in India and the United Kingdom — the same details, plus the declared value. This is a legal requirement.
- Razorpay — to take the payment.
- Our hosting provider — because the site sits on their servers.
- Meta, Google, Pinterest and TikTok — only if you have accepted advertising cookies. Where we send purchase information to Meta’s Conversions API it is hashed first, so they receive a one-way fingerprint rather than your email address.
We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone else.
Where it goes
We are an Indian company selling into Britain, so your order details are processed in India as well as in the United Kingdom. Transfers are made under the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, together with the technical and organisational measures set out in our contracts with each processor.
How long we keep it
- Order records, including the checkout acknowledgement: six years from the end of the financial year of the order, which is the limitation period for a contract claim and also what tax and customs record-keeping require.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe, and then a suppression record so we do not write to you again by mistake.
- Enquiries: two years.
- Analytics and advertising data: as set by each provider; typically fourteen months.
Cookies
Nothing but the essentials is set until you press Accept. The banner sets a record of your choice, and Google Consent Mode and the Meta pixel both start in a denied state and only change if you say so.

To change your mind, clear this site’s storage in your browser and reload; the banner will ask you again. Your browser’s own settings can block cookies entirely, and the shop still works if you do.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or hand it to another provider. You can object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time, which does not undo anything done beforehand.
Ask at orders@saracenthreads.com. We answer within one month and we do not charge. We may need to keep order records even after a deletion request, because tax and customs law requires it, and we will tell you if that applies.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first.
Children
This shop is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
