Buying from us
Terms of sale
These terms apply to everything bought through saracenthreads.com. They are written to be read, not to be survived. Nothing in them takes away a right the law gives you.
Version 1.0 · in force from 20 September 2026
1. Who you are buying from
THETA PUBLISHERS & C.S.R. SOLUTIONS INC., a partnership firm registered in India, of 20-21 Sunrise Palace, Jhalariya, Indore, Madhya Pradesh 452016, India, trading as Saracen Threads. GSTIN 23AAKFT1542N1ZZ. Importer Exporter Code 0516968173. Email orders@saracenthreads.com, telephone +91 93108 70803. That address is our registered office and our geographic address for the purposes of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
We sell to consumers in the United Kingdom only. We do not sell to anyone under 18.
2. What you are buying
Carpets and cloth, described on each product page. Every carpet is made to order in the size you select. Nothing is held in stock in Britain.
The descriptions are accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time of writing. Composition is stated as verified with the workshop. Dimensions are the finished measurements and may vary by up to two centimetres. Colour varies slightly between dye lots, and a hand-dyed ground carries visible variation in tone. Drawings shown on a product page are drawings of that carpet in its own colours; where a slot has not yet been photographed we say so on the page.
We make no claim about the age of any carpet. Yours is woven this season.
3. Price
The price shown on the product page is the total you pay us. It includes delivery to any UK address. No delivery charge, booking fee, handling charge or surcharge is added at any later point in the checkout.
Prices are in pounds sterling. We are an overseas seller and are not registered for UK VAT; we therefore do not charge UK VAT and do not issue VAT invoices.
Import charges are separate and are yours. Because the goods are dispatched to you direct from India, you are the importer of record. UK import VAT at 20% of the value of the goods, plus a carrier handling fee of around £12, is payable by you to the carrier on delivery. We disclose this above the buy button, at the basket and again at checkout, and you confirm you have understood it before paying. See Delivery and import charges.
4. How the contract is made
Your order is an offer to buy. The contract is formed when we email you an order confirmation. If we cannot accept your order — because the looms are full, because we cannot deliver to your address, or because a price was wrong — we will tell you and refund in full.
We release a limited number of looms per ground each week. When that week’s allocation is taken the product page says so and will not accept an order until the following Monday. That constraint is ours, it is real, and we keep a written record of each week’s release and sell-through.
5. Payment
Payment is taken in full at the time of order, by card or by a supported wallet, through Razorpay. We do not see or store your card details. Work does not begin until payment clears.
6. Making and delivery
We hold your order for 24 hours before sending it to the workshop. After that it is woven to your measurements, finished, and packed into that week’s consignment, which seals each Thursday. Anything you add before the seal travels in the same parcel at no further delivery charge.
Expect about fourteen days from payment to delivery. Where we give a date it is an estimate, not a guarantee, but if delivery has not happened within thirty days of the contract you may cancel and take a full refund.
Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to the address you gave. Title passes when we have been paid in full.
7. Changing your mind
You have 24 hours from payment to cancel for any reason and be refunded in full. After that, because the carpet is made to your specification, the fourteen-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply to it, by virtue of regulation 28(1)(b).
This applies to carpets only. Bedding, table linen and mats are sold from stock rather than made to your specification, so the exemption does not reach them and you keep the full fourteen-day right to cancel those items, counted from the day after delivery. All of this is explained in full, with the model cancellation form, at Cancellations and returns.
8. If something is wrong with the goods
Clause 7 concerns changing your mind and has no effect on your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the goods must be of satisfactory quality, as described and fit for purpose. If they are not, you have thirty days from delivery to reject them and take a full refund, and rights to repair, replacement or a price reduction after that. We will not normally ask you to return anything, because return carriage to India costs more than the goods.
9. Our liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, nor for business losses, as we supply goods for domestic use.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
10. Events outside our control
If making or delivering your order is delayed by something beyond our reasonable control we will tell you as soon as we can and do what we reasonably can to reduce the delay. If the delay exceeds thirty days you may cancel and take a full refund.
11. Your information
We handle it as described in the Privacy and cookies notice. We share your name, address and phone number with the carrier and with customs, because a parcel cannot cross a border without them.
12. Complaints and law
Complaints to orders@saracenthreads.com. We are not a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales; nothing here affects your right, as a consumer, to rely on the mandatory protections of the law of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.
13. Changes
We may change these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the version published when you placed your order, and we keep every version on file. The current version number and date are at the top of this page.
