A different cloth,
every season

We choose a set of block-printed cotton from what has come off the blocks that quarter, and send it. You do not know which one until it arrives, which is rather the point.

How it works

  1. You choose how long. A year of four deliveries, or one at a time.
  2. We choose the cloth. Whatever is best that quarter, from the same workshops. If you would rather have something specific, write and tell us and we will put it in.
  3. It leaves Malwa on the first. Every subscriber's box travels in the same consignment, which is most of why this costs what it does.

Why it is quarterly and not monthly

Because each box comes to you direct from India, and each one is a separate import. That means the carrier asks you for VAT and a handling fee every time a box arrives — about £66.90 on a £299 box.

Four times a year is a nuisance. Twelve times a year would be an insult, and we are not going to design something that hands you a customs bill every month so that we can bill you more often. Four deliveries, four customs events, about £133.80 a year in charges you pay the carrier rather than us.

If anyone offers you a monthly subscription shipped from outside the UK, ask them what you pay the courier each month. This is the part nobody puts on the page.
